Chabad of Greater St. Louis' Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) will launch the first season of its 2011-2012 Torah Studies course in late October. Classes will take place from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on 11 consecutive Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 26. Classes are held at the Lazaroff Chabad Center, 8124 Delmar Boulevard in University City. Like all JLI's courses, this latest adult education offering is designed for people at all levels of Jewish knowledge.

The course will explore Judaism's relevance in modern life, said course instructor Rabbi Levi Landa. "This course is truly novel in the way it probes the depths of classic Jewish thought to address the issues we face in contemporary Jewish life," he said. "I am looking forward to the great discussions that these texts no doubt will generate. The dialogue among participants is often my favorite part of the class."

Interested students are welcome to attend the first session free, without obligation to continue. The tuition for the entire course is $45, which includes the course textbook. Call Chabad at 314-725-0400 to enroll or visit ShowMeChabad.com/torahstudies.
