Are teens prepared to make choices that will shape their future? For example, is it okay to lie to protect someone you love? Do parents have a right to read their children’s text messages?; is there anything wrong with being a bystander to bullying?

Jewish Learning Institute Teens (JLI Teens) new course, ‘Is it Legit? Steering your Way through Everyday Ethical Dilemmas’ offers teens the tools to make decisions, develop strong ethical opinions, and to empower their inner voice to stand up for what they believe in. The course encourages teens to discover what they think is right. Starting Wednesday, Oct. 23, Rabbi Yanky Majesky will instruct the six-part course at the Chamu Jewish Center in Lake Mary.

The course addresses everyday life issues such as, privacy, bullying, relationships, parents and honesty.

When considering topics in an informal class setting, teens have the opportunity to discuss issues with other teens, listen to their peers’ experiences and think about their own principles. ‘Is It Legit’ give teens the tools to build a set of guiding principles that is truly their own and which will stay with them for years to come.

Beverages and snacks are always provided. The class includes textual learning, group interaction, and cutting-edge multimedia presentations.

‘Is It Legit’ is produced by JLI Teens, an international organization that aims to create a global network of informed students connected by bonds of shared Jewish experience. JLI Teens is part of the Rohr which has been creating learning curriculum for over 11 years and continuing to set new standards.
