In commemoration of 50 years since the Six-Day War, and beginning Tuesday, May, 2, Chabad of Greater St. Louis will premiere a new course by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) called “Survival of a Nation: Exploring Israel through the Lens of the Six-Day War.” The series is open to the community, and will meet for six 90-minute sessions (7 to 8:30 p.m.) at the Lazaroff Chabad Center, 8124 Delmar Blvd.

The course invites participants to experience a captivating account of what is considered by many to be one of the most improbable and astonishing victories in military history. 

The course will examine some of the moral and ethical issues faced by Israel back in the pre-1967 days and continuing through the present time, as it defends the safety and security of its people. 

Like all JLI programs, Survival of a Nation is designed to appeal to people at all levels of knowledge, including those without any prior experience or background in Jewish learning. JLI courses are open to the public, and attendees need not be affiliated with a synagogue or Jewish institution.
