Professor Ruth R. Wisse is the Martin Peretz Professor of Yiddish Literature and Professor of Comparative Literature at Harvard University, and has taught at McGill, Stanford, New York, Hebrew and Tel Aviv universities.
A pre-eminent authority on modern Jewish literature, a widely published scholar, editor, essayist and columnist, Professor Wisse is most recently the author of "The Modern Jewish Canon".
