JLI to offer medicine, morals course Oct. 26
The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI) will present “Medicine and Morals: Your Jewish Guide Through Life’s Tough Decisions.” Rabbi Levi Azimov of the Chabad Jewish Center of South Brunswick will conduct the six sessions 7:45-9:15 p.m. Tuesdays at the Chabad Jewish Center, 1 Riva Ave., South Brunswick beginning Oct. 26.
The six lessons are: “Choosing Life: The Obligation to Seek Healing”; “Flesh of My Flesh: Organ Transplants in Jewish Law”; “Rolling the Dice: Risky and Experimental Treatments”; “New Beginnings: The Ethics of Reproductive Technologies”; “With You in Mind: Ethical Treatment of the Mentally Disabled”; and “Secret Code: Genetics and the Ethics of Patient Confidentiality.”
All JLI courses are open to the public, and attendees need not be affiliated with a particular synagogue, temple, or other house of worship.
