Through a new communication course, Chabad Richmond is exploring how interaction with digital devices affects relationships.
The six-session course, Communication: Its Art and Soul hosted by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute, runs from Jan. 24 to Feb. 28.
The course is designed to people at all levels of knowledge, and is open to the public. Medical and mental health professionals, including social workers and family therapists, can earn continuing education credits for attending the course.
“The goal of this course is to mine classic Jewish texts and seek out their unique and priceless teachings,” said Rabbi Yechiel Baitelman, director of Chabad Richmond and local JLI instructor. “This can help us reclaim the lost art of deep human connection in spite of our electronic devices.”
JLI was founded in 1998, and offers programs in more than 800 locations worldwide. More than 400,000 students have attended JLI classes.
