Jewish Learning Institution to teach 'soul maps'

The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute will teach a six-week program for adults titled "Soul Maps," an innovative approach to human psychology, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays beginning Nov. 6 at Thousand Oaks Chabad Jewish Center, 2060 E. Avenida de Los Arboles, Ste. I, Thousand Oaks.

The course uses tools from the Kabbalah to help participants understand themselves and find inner contentment. The course is based on Tanya, an 18th century book that makes the teachings of Kabbalah practical, relevant, and accessible.

The program is designed for people at all levels of Jewish knowledge. Participants do not need prior background in Jewish learning and do not need to belong to a particular synagogue.

The cost is $65, which includes the textbook. People are invited to attend the first lesson free with no obligation.

The Jewish Learning Institute is the adult education arm of Chabad-Lubavitch.
