Staff Reports

The Asheville Jewish Learning Institute, the adult education arm of The Chabad House, will launch a new program: Jewish Learning Institute for Teens!

The program is designed for teens in grades 9-12. The premiere course: MySpace/YourSpace: Is My Life Any of Your Business? will begin Nov. 1. The course will address modern day issues including suicide and self harm, drugs and alcohol, extreme sports and avoiding danger, the value of money and life and one’s obligation to strangers.

MySpace/YourSpace will be offered in the evenings at Chabad House for six Sundays at 7 p.m. starting Nov. 1 but excluding Nov. 15. The course fee is $36 and includes textbooks and refreshments.

The program is designed for people at all levels of Jewish knowledge. All Jewish Learning Institute courses are open to the public, and attendees need not be a member of any particular synagogue or temple. For more information contact Rabbi Susskind at [email protected] or call 505-0746.
