Course on Holocaust to begin April 27 in Mtn. Lakes
STAFF REPORT
MOUNTAIN LAKES — Chabad of Mountain Lakes will host "Beyond Never Again: How the Holocaust Speaks to Us Today," a six-week course to take place Tuesdays starting April 27.
The sessions, created by The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute and offered throughout Morris County and the world, will cover how Judaism helps people grapple with large life questions such as the existence of evil, what makes life worth living and how to keep faith in the future.
Anyone can attend, according to Rabbi Levi Dubinsky, who will present "Beyond Never Again" for the Chabad of Mountain Lakes. Though Chabad Lubavitch is an orthodox movement and organization, it welcomes conservative, reform and non-observant Jews as well as non-Jews to the program.
"Everyone struggles, and nowadays people go through suffering because of the economy and for other reasons," Dubinsky said. "One of the main focuses of the course is the Torah approach of how to deal with pain and suffering."
He stressed that, though "Beyond Never Again" centers on the Holocaust, it is not a history course. Rather, it speaks to modern people in modern situations with modern challenges.
The course he leads is being offered at 22 Old Boonton Road, Denville. The cost is $79 per individual and $136 per couple, textbook included. For more information, contact 973-551-1898 or visitwww.ChabadML.com .
