Navigating Parenthood, the World’s Hardest Job

“The Art of Parenting,” a new six-session course, will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chabad Jewish Center, located at 375 Pulis Avenue in Franklin Lakes. A second course will start on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 9:45 a.m.

The course was designed by the Jewish Learning Institute - the largest Jewish education network in the world with educational programming in more than 962 communities - and is accredited by the Washington School of Psychiatry.

Classes cover a wide range of topics including building relationships with your children, striking a balance between being firm and forgiving, raising independent children while ensuring responsibility, cultivating healthy self-esteem, effective reward and discipline, and imparting tools for successful and healthy living.

“Empires and civilizations have come and gone, but the Jewish people have survived,” says Rabbi Chanoch Kaplan, the course instructor. “This course taps into the great Jewish parenting success story that is our people’s survival, against all odds, over the course of thousands of years.”

Interested students may call 201-848-0449 or visit www.chabadplace.org for registration and other course-related information.
